Project Overview

Padel is a racquet sport – like trendy pickleball – with impressive growth trajectory and potential in the US. Padel Haus, a timely addition to New York’s fitness and wellness offerings, is the first luxury club to facilitate play and instruction in this exciting new format. Padel Haus capitalizes on global momentum and our desire for new ways to build and strengthen community after the pandemic with three locations throughout Brooklyn, featuring premium branding and a luxury experience informed by youth and vigor.

The Brief

Where the athletic facilities at Padel Haus feature a bold, sporty look with traditional cobalt blue courts and sharp black accents, the restroom and locker areas transition members to a more soothing ambiance. Cool-toned finishes with a preponderance of glass and translucent tile produce a sense of airiness, even in the absence of natural light. The locker and shower facilities provide Malin + Goetz grooming products and a steam room, further cementing the space as one of luxury wellness, not just post-workout utility.

The Solution

Interior designer Bianca Chevallard Design used light wood accents to tie the main space and the locker rooms together. To create a hand-washing area that harmonized with the larger environment, Chevallard and her team specified TSL’s Radius Collection faucets and soap dispensers in matte black PVD for each hand-washing station, with our minimalist wall-mounted hand dryer in a matching finish at each end of the space. Then they added a Monolith C Series sink, for a deep, angled trough that would minimizing water splash and allow users elbow room for a more flexible way to freshen up. The C Series sink was customized with countertops by the hand dryers for added convenience. TSL’s flexible design offerings and rigorous minimalism perfectly complement the well-considered finishes and the layout of the room. The overall impression is one of cleanliness and ease, without ever dipping into the utilitarian blandness that has often characterized such spaces in the past.
