Galaxy FBO at Houston Hobby
Project overview
Located at Houston’s Hobby Airport, Galaxy FBO (Fixed Base Operator) is a 24,220 square foot facility with two aircraft hangars flanking each side for general aviation and charter services through its partner company, Wing Aviation. The FBO includes world-class amenities such as a customer lounge, conference rooms, crew lounge, flight planning room, and operation support spaces.
The brief
According to Project Architect Alysha Koenig, the design needed to be, “customer-focused using both contrasting colors and textures. Warm and cool tones in stone-like tiles with walnut veneer trim work, cohesive architectural elements as you move throughout the space, large expansive views to bring in natural light, and various seating options to provide clients an inviting space to enjoy the offered amenities.”

The solution
PGAL had worked previously with The Splash Lab and knew our PVD finishes could deliver on the cohesive aesthetic described in the brief. Our Ribbon Three Fixture System was specified, with the soap dispenser, faucet, and hand dryer in brass to match the accents in the distinguished space.
Also specified was our Monolith Basin, B Series. The two-user sink is designed for use with deck-mounted fixtures and integrates seamlessly with our Ribbon Products. The countertop dividers of the B Series are perfect for air travel centers because it allows users to put their things down safely while washing, while also negotiating a comfortable space between stations.
Fabricated in Carbon Aggregate Corian™ – a variegated concrete-style finish with realistic veins and composite look – the sink melds with the charcoal gray strié walls and adds to the natural materials that render the space a luxurious and relaxing space for customers.
