Project overview

A nearly 2 million square foot corporate campus designed with a contemporary focus on an open, collaborative workplace, state of the art amenities, and luxurious finishes. The campus sits in a ravine and architects Pelli Clarke Pelli used this formation to situate the buildings in harmony with the natural environment.

The site utilizes a town-center style layout with building shapes reflected across the campus. The new design consolidates a formerly disconnected workforce of more than 12,000 employees, so the design needed to fost connection with a clear vision, but still accommodate diverse teams and space needs. The interiors are flooded with diffused natural light and reutilize the village-like layout to center each building’s flow around common lounge, dining and concourse areas.

The brief

Increased focus in the American workplace on designing all aspects of the employee experience with the same thought and care given to client-facing spaces has revolutionized conventional thought around office restrooms.

As the headquarters of a legacy US company with strong roots in the area, the campus restrooms needed to sustain this theme and maintain a high quality standard across a complex facility operation.

The Splash Lab has led the market with our insights on how a well-designed restroom can promote employee creativity and productivity, as well as reduce workplace stress, so we were a natural choice for this project.

Modular fixture kits made it easy to specify the setup needed to ensure a positive restroom image across all buildings at the site.

The solution

Showcasing TSL’s brilliantly adaptive PVD range, the campus restrooms employ three different finishes of The Ribbon System soap dispenser, faucet, and hand dryer to match the three distinctive site finishes.

In the main building, brushed stainless fixtures complement a bright palette of warm whites, natural oak, and geometric flourishes in steel blue to express a fresh and optimistic corporate identity.

A second structure with client meeting rooms evinces a sleek, industrial space with textured gray walls and black terrazzo countertops. Here the black PVD fixtures contribute a designer edge to the moody interior. An onsite credit union for employees deepens the color story from the main building with dark blue walls, and warm wood, with TSL bright polish finish serving as a stylish, chromed accent to the elegant space.

The Splash Lab has well crafted and beautifully designed products. I always go to them first to create a holistically designed restroom.
